Faculty of Fine Arts

The Faculty of Fine Arts at Kütahya Dumlupınar University views art/design education as an indispensable element of social and economic development, contributing to the creation of a society capable of meeting the needs of the age. In this respect, the Faculty's mission in art/design education is to ensure the emergence of new art/design products and new art theories that possess social and economic value, creating a competitive advantage by considering universal norms, primarily Turkish culture. Furthermore, it aims to cultivate individuals who possess visual literacy skills, can draw upon different disciplines, can think originally and freely while considering social responsibility; can utilize contemporary knowledge and technology in real life; know how to benefit from local and universal values; can offer solutions to existing or potential future problems in the field of art/design; can think critically; have the self-confidence to establish their presence nationally and internationally; possess developed aesthetic sensitivity; and are philosophically well-equipped.
The Faculty's vision is to create an educational environment where diverse, original, and aesthetically pleasing works of art and designs can be produced, drawing from local codes while also considering universal values. Accordingly, our goal is to cultivate individuals with high self-confidence who can not only solve problems but also identify them and develop solutions. Furthermore, we aim to establish programs that can contribute to Türkiye's socio-cultural and economic development; to work towards the accreditation of existing programs; to create a physical environment where technological innovations can be utilized; and to continuously strive to integrate innovations in vocational and technical fields into our programs.
Our faculty maintains close relationships and collaborations with similar educational institutions both domestically and internationally. The increase in the number of international students in recent years, and the enrichment of art/design education through diverse cultures and perspectives, is also noteworthy. Our faculty comprises the Departments of Visual Communication Design, Cartoon Animation, Painting, Ceramics and Glass, Handicrafts, and Radio, Television, and Cinema. All departments except the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department accept students.
Our Faculty, which includes a web-based television studio, two mini-cinemas, workshops for basic art education, photography, jewelry making, stone processing, painting, stop motion, mural painting, lathe and plaster molding, Mac-based computers, marbling, CNC, ceramic kilns, glazing technologies, etc., as well as exhibition halls, conference halls and workspaces, will serve 1376 undergraduate students with 49 full-time, 8 part-time academic and 17 administrative staff as of 2025.
